Dream Title: Cross the Rialto Bridge

Cross the Rialto Bridge

The oldest and one of the most famous bridges in Venice is The Rialto. Built in 1591, it is still supported by the 12,000 original wooden pilings. It is open to foot traffic only. It houses a double row of tourist shops and is one of the most important tourist attractions in Venice.

It is one of three bridges spanning the Grand Canal, Accademia and Scalzi being the other two.  It was originally built of wood abut after burning and then collapsing twice, it was finally rebuilt of stone over 400 years ago.

Note: The bridge is made up of numerous steps leading over the arch-shape of the bridge, so wheelchairs and strollers are a challenge.
